Presented at the 43rd ESRA Annual Congress, this case report by Dr. Goran Bosnjak and Anna Lester shows how electronic infusion technology can overcome the barriers that have limited continuous peripheral nerve blocks, including concerns over pump reliability and the poor flow accuracy of elastomeric devices. Using the Avoset™ pump, preset via its web-based programming tool, the patient mobilized within minutes of waking, required no opioids after ward admission, and experienced no complications, with nursing staff reporting high confidence in the pump settings.
